Dress code of the club
The club maintains a smart but casual dress code. The club staff may ask you to leave the course or clubhouse if you do not follow the dress code. The following items are not acceptable on the course or in the clubhouse :-
T-Shirts or shell suits
Clothing worn on the course that has become soiled is not permitted in the Lounge areas
Mobile phones are permitted, but should be used with discretion.
Play on the course
Slow play spoils the enjoyment for many players. Visitors, like everyone else, are expected to maintain a reasonable pace. As a guide, a 3 ball game should take a 'maximum' of 3 1/2 hours to complete. Players are expected to observe the pattern of play, both in front of and behind their own game, and must give way if they are holding up the match following their own.
We are members of the Association of James Braid Courses. There are now over 200 member clubs. If you are a member of an associate club, you are welcome to play at Cathcart Castle. Tee times should be booked in advance by contacting the Secretary. Please be ready to produce your home club membership card. Cost per round is £20 for weekdays and £30 at the weekend. There is no travel distance limit. For more details click here
The 1895 Club of which Cathcart Castle is a member was formed by a number of clubs, all celebrating their Centenary in 1995. All members of the 1895 club offer reciprocal courtesy of the course to visiting members from other 1895 clubs. .
